Our Governors

Our governors are an important part of Seaford Primary School. They keep us in check, on track and provide support to our teachers.

The governing board is made up of:

the headteacher
a local authority governor appointed by the local authority
2 parent governors appointed by parents
1 staff governor appointed by the staff, and
9 co-opted community governors appointed by the governing body.

All governors attend the full board meetings. There are two committees and all governors are on at least one of the committees, based on their skills.

The Strategic Organisation Committee oversees:

setting the annual budget
approving planned spending
monitoring Health & Safety, and
approving policies relevant to these areas.

The Teaching and Learning Committee:

oversees the educational performance in the school, and
scrutinises the development plans.

They also approve the policies relevant to teaching and learning.
